Micah “Pup” Slayde knows he wants Tackett Austin the moment he lays eyes on him in the Guards of Folsom. Micah wants to have purpose, to be taken care of, and to take care of his Dom—wants to trust him completely, live for him, belong to him. To become his everything. Micah is sure Tackett is the one. The problem is, in order to be the perfect sub, he needs to stay focused, and that’s not easy for Micah, who suffers from what he refers to as a “broken brain.” Focus and adult attention deficit disorder rarely coexist.

Ever since Ty Callahan and Blake Henderson’s collaring ceremony, Tackett’s been thinking too much about his own loneliness. Even though Ty introduces Micah and urges Tackett to give him a try, Tackett isn’t so easily convinced. He’s spent his life pursuing a successful business career, and the subs he dominates almost never enjoy the kiss of his leather twice. Twenty years Micah’s senior, Tackett has no interest in taking on and taming such a young and naughty sub—but it’s difficult to resist such an adorable pup when he begs.

Mine … the perfect reaction to a BDSM book, and when I saw the cover – that was my immediate thought!

His … Micah felt it in his gut; as soon as he saw Tackett he wanted to be his boy.

Funk  … Tackett has felt very different since witnessing Blake & Ty’s collaring ceremony.

I started this book as soon as I got my little mitts on it – even though I was a third of the way through another book. Another BDSM book. A hardcore BDSM book. That was the pulling power of this cover, and this author. When I started it I was anxious about “book hangover” – I have read a number of terrific books lately and that, coupled with the intensity of the book I was in the middle of, left me anxious that the book wouldn’t measure up to the cover. I was wrong. You can in fact judge this book by its cover 😛

Micah was adorable. He just fit the book and the title perfectly. He was fun, sexy, very willful and I just wanted to reach into the book and ruffle his curls! His mind is a busy place – thoughts pinging around like pinballs! I love scatterbrains!! One thing he never lost focus on though was how much he wanted Tackett. From the minute he saw him, he wanted to be his boy. But his flirty ways weren’t really getting him very far – thank heavens Tackett’s friends decided to play match maker!

Tackett has been in a funk since witnessing Blake and Ty’s collaring ceremony. He feels old. And for the first time ever he feels unhappy with his lot in life. He sees Micah’s attempts at getting his attention – but it just doesn’t work. He isn’t into games (even though he has never had a fulltime boy) and that is all he thinks Micah is: a young pup playing in a man’s world. Of course he is totally wrong on that score. Micah is up for the challenge – elastic band and all ! (For that little spoiler you need to read the book!)

Things finally get a little heated at a farewell party for a mutual friend and Tackett takes Micah home with him. Just to fuck. Of course. But one thing leads to another and before you know it the weekend has turned into a 2 week contract. This is where it gets very good, and interesting. I loved seeing into Tackett’s thought process, we often read about the challenge of submitting, and this is obviously very challenging. But to see the Dom struggle with his own side of the equation – standing firm when he wants to cuddle; punishing his boy for teasing even though he loved the sexy wiggle – everything the Dom does he does for his boy. He only sees the big picture, and the final result of all these steps and tests along the way leading to total submission. Total ownership. And when it comes, it is a beautiful thing.

I really loved this book. The characters were charming, the smexy was scorching, and the story was a different take on the usual Dom meets sub kinda thing. If you like a D/s book with a sweet side that doesn’t take away from the hard core essence of D/s as a lifestyle – then you will love this book!

Love … “What if your mind and body wasn’t enough? … What if I told you I wanted your heart too?”

Go … Buy The Book. Seriously! This book was BEAUTIFUL!!

Be sure to read Rivetedit is part of Ty and Blake’s story, but you get a glimpse of Micah and Tackett in it, and of course the collaring.
