All Parker Anderson has ever wanted is to take over as CEO of Anderson Industries when his father retires. But when his father is ready to leave the company, he doesn’t plan to pass the reins to Parker. Instead, he plans to sell the company, jeopardizing not only Parker’s job but hundreds of others.

Parker finds an unlikely ally in Mason Pike, the company’s resident IT guru. What starts as a flirtation takes them from coworkers to coconspirators in a plan to forcibly buy Anderson Industries out from under Parker’s father. While they focus on the buyout, their budding romance has to be put on hold, but that doesn’t stop them from flirting and teasing each other to distraction—and once their master plan comes to fruition, nothing and no one can keep them apart.

Review :

Parker Anderson works his butt off for his father’s company. He’s usually the first one to arrive and the last to leave. He’s even been known to sleep on the couch in his office, from time to time. When a position opens up in the research and development department, Parker knows he has to ace his presentation or he’ll never get the job. Just because he’s the bosses son doesn’t mean he gets special treatment. To bad right before he’s supposed to be in his father’s office, his computer crashes and he loses his proposal.

Mason Pike the IT guy, is the best at his job and knows it. When he breezes into Parker’s office he is unruffled with the VP of operations threatening attitude. With an eye roll and some snarky comments he’s out the door leaving Parker wondering what the heck just happened.

Over the course of a few weeks Parker and Mason exchange many instant messages full of funny banter and flirty comments. These exchanges were so funny and in my opinion they were the best part of the whole story.

When Parker learns his father not only doesn’t give him the job but also plans to sell the company leaving him and many other employees out of work, he knows he needs to take action or he will lose everything he has worked so hard for.

This may be my first read by Bru Barker, but it won’t be my last. I absolutely enjoyed this Novella. It was fast paced, cute, funny and an all around light and easy read. Honestly, I would have loved for this to have been a longer book. I really liked all the characters and would have loved to have gotten a chance to know them better.
