When sexy, kilt-wearing astronomy professor Greg MacIntyre moves in next door, Blake Theriot knows he’s in trouble. Blake is a research librarian, and he likes things orderly and controlled. But in his secret fantasies, he craves a big, powerful man like Greg to stir up his life.
Every time Blake tries to talk to his erudite neighbor, his brain shuts down and his vocabulary is reduced to one-word utterances, but when Blake’s niece challenges him to invite Greg to dinner, he does. A few shots of after-dinner whiskey loosen Blake’s inhibitions, and the two men share a hot kiss and the promise of more. Can Blake relax enough to give himself a chance with Greg, or will his fear of letting go ruin his hopes for love?
This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I’ve come to know that when I read a Silvia Violet book I’m going to get funny dialogue, good characters and hot sex and I definitely got that with Meteor Strike.
Matt is focusing on his career. He’s currently working for Greg, the kilt wearing hunk from Astronomical. Matt wants Greg to offer him the permanent position after his postdoc position is up. He’s invited to a conference along with thousands of other people in his field. I know a conference of people talking above my head doesn’t sound like a good time but at night these smarties start living it up! AND hooking up! Matt isn’t really a one night stand kind of guy. He’s so close to getting his dream job and wants to settle down. One night of pleasure isn’t worth blowing it at the conference, so he swears off any fun in the smexy department. It was a doable plan until he runs into Adam.
Matt should have known he’d run into to Adam but he’s tried like hell, unsuccessfully, to get him out of his mind. He’s never felt something so strong for someone so wrong for him. Adam is firmly in the closet and only does one night stands. Distance and time haven’t changed the chemistry between the two. Matt hopes to keep away from Adam but he isn’t letting Matt run away from what they could have again.
This was a fun and sexy read. I liked how bossy Adam was both in and out of the bedroom. Matt tried to keep it cool and fight the attraction but that was never going to happen with the connection between these MCs. Matt was adorably tongue-tied at times and couldn’t keep his thoughts from spilling out of his mouth at others. I love that! I think one of my favorite parts was Matt losing the bet and having go commando wearing the kilt and then of course enjoying Adam’s reaction to that. If you’re in the mood for a quick read with humor and some good sexual tension check this out.
