River is the charismatic lead singer of Caged Hearts and it’s an open secret that the vibrant energy he displays on stage doesn’t bleed away as soon as he’s out from under the lights. That sometimes causes considerable friction with his bandmates.

Jeff is the guitarist for Caged Hearts, but he’s not your typical party-hard rockstar. He’s far more focused on taking care of everyone in his band–especially River.

An offhand comment from Jeff inadvertently helps River discover his submissive side, and he asks Jeff to help him continue to explore those desires. While Jeff is turned on by the idea, he’s also reluctant. There’s no telling what it could do to the band and his friendship with River. Especially when Jeff wants so much more than just sex.

River has a hard time calming down after a show. He’s part of a band. River is rooming with Jeff when the book begins. Jeff offhandedly tells River to go jerk off in the bathroom to calm himself down. River does it and that’s how it begins. Once he realizes he likes being told what to do he goes to Jeff for it. Jeff is hesitant to get into that kind of relationship with his band mate but River proves to be persistent and too hard to resist.

That was a pretty sexy book. I liked the idea of good friends in a band that fall into a D/s relationship by accident. The characters were good. BUT it was missing the details between the sex. There was very little fleshing out of the book beyond the D/s sex scenes. They were hot! I always find the “denying yourself” kink to be so sexy. In this case River was so needy and Jeff so hungry to take care of River. River awakened his desire to control and deliver ecstasy through a D/s relationship. Pretty hot stuff.

What it lacked in was emotion. You could tell the guys wanted to be together very quickly and without that building of feelings and details beyond the bedroom is just seemed like hot sex and a lot of missed potential. The characters were great. River so cute and desperate for something he couldn’t quite put a finger on, until Jeff did. 😉 Jeff realizing that he wanted to give River everything he wanted and that made him happy. I would have liked more of the band mates. They were fun and about the only glimpse of anything outside of the relationship. If you read this for the smexy factor I’d say you would enjoy it.
