This Christmas, actor Ryan Drake is pining. He may get to kiss gorgeous Cary Holloway on the set of their hit TV show, “Space Academy”, but he knows it’ll never happen in real life. Charming Cary–the son of Hollywood royalty–is straight, as evidenced by his starlet girlfriend. But Christmas is a time for unexpected gifts, and Cary accepts Ryan’s invitation to leave the palm trees behind and spend the holiday with his family at their cabin in the Great White North.
Amid the snow and mistletoe, Ryan struggles to keep his longing under wraps. Little does he know, Cary wrestles with his own unspoken desires, and his very identity. Surrounded by family and holiday joy, their warm friendship deepens. Will these two co-stars have the courage to brave Hollywood pressures and take their romance offscreen–or will it be only in their dreams?
This was a very sweet read. If this Christmas story doesn’t give you cheer I don’t know what will. It manages to throw in so many perfect Christmas moments and yet not come off cheesy or predictable. It had a very innocent feel with some very sexy scenes. I thought the family in this one was great. They meet at their cabin in the woods to celebrate a family time filled Christmas. I found the setting and family completely adorable and charming.
Ryan and Cary are playing a gay couple on a tv show. Their characters are just admitting their feelings and an on screen kiss occurs just as shooting wraps up for the holiday break. Thing is, Ryan has those same very real feelings for Cary. Cary comes from a well Hollywood royalty. He’s also dating a popular actress from another show. Ryan knows he’s straight but he can’t help but fantasize about Cary. He shouldn’t. They’re just friends.
When Cary comes to him complaining about his girlfriend’s plan for Christmas, Ryan invites Cary to his parents house instead. Cary says he wishes he could but turns down the offer. So, it’s surprising when Cary calls Ryan from the airport hoping the invitation still stands. Cary is elated but nervous about spending so much time with Cary. How can he keep his interest in Cary hidden when they’ll be sharing a room at the cabin?
I liked everything about this book. The characters were lovable. The book utterly charming with tons of Christmas warm a fuzzies. Throw in a hot budding romance under the watchful eyes of Ryan’s family and you’ve got a great read! I recommend adding this one to your holiday TBR.
