Will has a temper as wild as the bear he holds inside. Normally he’s an easy-going, caring guy, but if someone crosses him, he uses his claws and shifter strength to set them straight. His temper ruined his chance at the career he wanted, but now he’s working at Wild R Farm, enjoying the camaraderie and longing for more with one special man.
No one at the farm knows much about Ryan. He’s done time in prison and he carries scars that tell of something horrible in his past. When he gifts Will with one of his rare smiles, Will decides to do whatever it takes to get him to smile more often. Will is used to being a protector, and even when he learns Ryan’s dark secrets, he refuses to turn away. What he doesn’t realize is that he needs Ryan’s quiet strength as much as Ryan needs someone to show they care. Ryan’s past threatens to send him running, but Will and the rest of the crew of Wild R prove that no matter the danger, they take care of their own.
Willing Hands is the fourth installment in the Wild R Farm series. Each book in the series revolves around a different couple with the connection of the Wild R Farm. They either work there or fall for someone who works there. The couple in Willing Hands was set up brilliantly in Tristan’s book. I wanted to read it right away. That’s also the first time we meet Will the bear shifter. He’s big and furry but literally shifts into a bear. I love it!
Will has a crush on a quiet and shy human named Ryan. There’s just something about him that makes Will act like a lovesick teen. He knows Ryan is a private person and too much unwanted attention could scare him off. There’s also the issue of Will’s bear temper and the potential disaster that could become when paired with a shy sweet human. A little pushing from the guys who notice they both seem into to each other leads Will to finally asking Ryan out. Things go slow and the tension builds. Just when you start to think they will take the next step in their relationship, Ryan’s past comes back to haunt him and the Wild R Farm. Ryan’s first instinct is to run but Will wants to keep him right where he is. Ryan’s never been able to rely on others and thinks he’s only putting everyone in danger. Everyone else wants him to stay and is willing to fight alongside him but the urge to hide his past from his past may be too much for him to resist. Running has always been the easiest way.
I really enjoyed both MCs as individuals and as a couple. The way Ryan is so sweet and shy but completely capable. He’s talented in so many ways from life forcing him to excel at things to survive. Will is ashamed of his temper but it’s part of who he is. He’s not a violent man but the bear is definitely part of him. Will both accepts it wants to control it. I enjoy the opposites attract aspect from the first glance but the more you get to know them the more they evolve. Ryan is so broken but he never gives up. Will is very gentle and caring with Ryan when he needs it most. Does his best to give Ryan the time and space he seems to need even though his bear half wants to protect and claim what’s his. Part of what I like about this series is they are almost all shifters but it’s not so cliché like some shifter stories seem to be. They don’t do the “mine” or “mate” thing as animals but fall in love as the men that have another half who strongly urges them. Keeps things interesting for sure.
This was another sexy and sweet read from Silvia. We get to spend time with our favorite guys from the first three books, fall in love with a new couple and have some laughs. What’s not to love about that? I recommend!
