Review:

Valentine’s Day. So many expectations come with this holiday.  When Burgess Cameron asks Steve Manchester to go with him to a Valentine’s Day dance/charity event, Steve wants no part of it. Burgess has been his best friend for a long time, and that is part of the problem.  Steve has longed for more than just friendship ever since they met, but Burgess made it seem he was only interested in friendship. Why would he want to take Steve to a Valentine dance for crying out loud!  Because of this unrequited love, Steve is considering taking a job in San Francisco. To have a fresh start and be away from the constant reminder of what he cannot have.

A Secret Valentine is a sweet friends to lovers story that uses flashbacks to show how our two protagonists meet, their experiences along the way (uh – the twins were horrible) and how they have gotten to this point – two single best friends attending a Valentine dance together.  As a reader, I saw where this was leading but it was fun to watch it unfold.  It is a short, sweet story that makes a lovely Valentine read.
