After an explosive locker room confrontation with his Russian rival ends in the most surprising and intense sex of his life, American pairs skater Dev Avira needs to refocus. He’s worked for years to win Olympic gold, and he can’t let himself—or his partner—down. Distraction in the form of steely and smoldering Mikhail Reznikov is the last thing he needs as he prepares for the biggest competition of his life.

But with the Games only days away, they can’t keep their hands off each other. Dev soon learns that beneath Mikhail’s arrogant and aloof exterior is Misha, a passionate man who warms Dev’s heart and scorches his bed. They’re both determined to win, but for Misha his freedom could be on the line. Can Dev put his deepening feelings on ice as he goes for gold.

This is my first figure skating book. I liked it, although I’d say figure skating it a much more interesting thing to watch than to read about. I found myself zoning out during the skating scenes. The author obviously new her stuff but for me I just wanted the characters to interact. I know….I know…. that’s just part of the story. With the book being novella length I just wanted more on page time with the MCs since that’s the part I liked. Yes, there is more to the story than the couple. There was in fact two woman both men were responsible for. Not in a sexual way but their partners in skating. It created an interesting dynamic on who your loyalties lie with even when part of you is screaming to ignore it.

Dev is heading to the Olympics to compete in couple’s ice dance skating. His biggest rival in the skating world is the gorgeous and arrogant Russian Mikhail and his partner. Everyone wants to be the best so the tension is high. Mikhail and Dev have an altercation at the competition before the Olympics they end up kissing and getting off together in the locker room. Both shocked and confused, the guys run off. The next time they see each others is the Olympics. Devi tries to ignore it but luck, I guess you’d say, puts them in the showers together and Mikhail drops to his knees for Dev. They both realize they can’t ignore this attraction burning between them but they have to keep it hidden from everyone else. Including their skating partners. Mikhail has to hide it because his government is having him watched and they can’t have one of their national treasures being caught with another man. Dev hides it because he’s screwing his sworn enemy days before they compete. If only getting to know each other didn’t make it that much harder to stay away.

The release of this book during the Olympics was smart. I don’t think it would have been as appealing if it hadn’t been. I will say this was a pretty sexy read. Mikhail, later referred to as Misha, very cute by the way, was so sexy and wanton as a bottom. His accent just added to the appeal. Dev was kind of a basket case when it came to Misha. He was so in control at all other times it was kind of endearing. I think them stealing moments when they could and the chance they’d get caught at any moment heightened those scenes. This was a pretty straightforward sexy romance. If you’re in the mood for a quick and sexy read just in time for the Olympics, pick this one up.
