Review:

It’s official. Daniel Kane is a sick sick man. Good grief! Reading this book was just like watching a horror film. I actually turned my head away from my Nook in one of the many graphic murder scenes. They’re told from the serial killer’s POV and you WILL feel his evil glee. I actually just shivered thinking about it. He doesn’t skim over anything like a lot of murder mysteries and it’s weird to say but these scenes are very well written. Slasherazzi is sick. It’s twisted AND it’s brilliant.

Alex is a Detective on the task force to find the Slasherazzi. A sadistic serial killing men in Tampa. The serial killer always seems to be one step ahead of them and is loving the media attention he’s been getting. Catching the Slasherazzi is pretty much consuming Alex’s life. The newest grizzly murder brings his ex boyfriend back into his life. His Ex, Vince, is a reporter covering the Slasherazzi for a local paper. Their reasons for breaking up over and over stem from Vince’s need to make the headline first by way of insider information not always given freely from Alex. It’s caused some serious trust issues in what would otherwise be a potential serious relationship. When things start getting a little close to home, Alex has to decide who he can trust.

That was so much harder than it should have been. I could spoil easily but I think I stayed vague enough. There are just so many twists and turns. You suspect many and don’t know who Alex should trust. There comes a point when he doesn’t either.

There is definitely a love story in this book. The MCs are kind of a mess and usually fighting but you know they want to be together. Why else would they keep coming back for more? There is some really sexy chemistry going on between Alex and Vince. You can feel how much they enjoy being together. Well, when things are good anyway.

When you pick up this book know that you are about to read something violent and dark. The lightest thing this book has to offer is some humor sprinkled around. Oh and some hot and playful sex! The first page was shocking and doesn’t let up until the victim’s last breath. I admit to being uncomfortable at first but couldn’t stop reading it. The ending smacks you in the face. I’ve been thinking about it all day. I kind of want to go back and reread it to see all the clues I probably missed the first time around. This is absolutely a must read for horror book or movie fans. I even had one of those moments when you want to yell at the character because he does the totally wrong thing and you know it but in this case you don’t KNOW it. Total mind fuck! Add in all the gory glory and you have one sick and twisted tale in Slasherazzi.
